After many years, the stucco exterior to this residential property had become faded and prone to mildew. On average, Stucco exteriors require maintenance every five years, and this is the reason why. As it ages, Stucco becomes porous, leading to moisture being retained, which causes mildew. For these reasons and many others, our client reached out to CertaPro Painters, to help revamp and refresh the exterior to this stucco property in Fairhope.
CHALLENGES:
Rather than a simple exterior repaint, our team was tasked with a total refresh of the property from top to bottom. As a multi-story residential property, special care was taken to ensure that power washing and painting only effected the home exterior and not the garden or other areas.
Projects of this size also require proper coordination within the crew. Ladders and other appropriate measures were taken to ensure quality work in a timely manner.
CONDITIONS
Porous Stucco – With mildew as a primary concern, our team made sure to avoid delays and start right away. The faster you powerwash, the faster you’ll be free of debris potentially sabotaging a repaint.
Faded Exterior – Not only were the colors faded, but they were also outdated and no longer appealing.
Exposed Terrain – Knowing that this house would be susceptible to water damage in the future, our team used Premium Sherwin Williams Loxon XP Paint to seal the Stucco against further water retention.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
Power Washing – In order to remove dirt and other debris, the home exterior needed cleaning.
Prep – All windows and exterior surfaces besides the walls were covered up to keep things clean and neat.
Painting – The owner wanted a white exterior, accompanied by by a dark trim across the windows
