Residential Case Study
Home in Orono
CertaPro Painters® of Minnetonka, MN were employed to repaint this impressive home in Orono this November. The customer felt that the color of both the paint on the walls and the stain on the woodwork in the house was too dark, and wanted to lighten up their home with a complete refurbishing of the interior. Lucky for them, our professional painters were more than ready to satisfy all of their interior painting needs!
What the Project Involved
This project required several different services from our painters. Throughout this project, our team would employ their professional painting skills to repaint the walls of the home, to repair the ceiling drywall, and to enamel all the doors, windows, and cabinets. This project was a fantastic display of many of the skills that make our team deserving of the word “professional!”
This was a very large home and a very large interior painting project. Since we were working on refurbishing the entire living space, the customer needed to move to the basement level throughout the project. As such, we wanted to make sure we moved swiftly with the project to help get them back to normal usage of their home sooner. Every surface in the home that wasn’t going to be painted, like the floors, kitchen appliances, glass on windows and so on, needed to be covered and protected. By putting our best foot forward in the preparatory stages for the project, we were able to repaint all of the surfaces our customer had requested of us to with great precision and efficiency.
Once preparations were complete, our team of professional painters got to work repainting the home and staining the beautiful woodwork around it!
In addition to the painting and staining work being done on the walls, the customer also wanted to darken the trim on the front doors and the garage service doors. This required us to lightly sand the trim and then apply a gel-stain to the right color depth. Once this was completed, we then applied a top coat with a protective urethane product. Something our painters put a great deal of care into is being sure to take every precaution to create a final product that is built to last!
That sort of preemptive work is what our painters excel in. For example, the cabinetry in the home had a very thick coat of urethane that needed to be abated in order for the primer and enamel to adhere properly. We de-glossed the cabinetry using both chemical and manual techniques. Proper preparation was essential for a project of this size to ensure not only the desired appearance for the customer, but quality of work and durability that will protect against damage and last longer.
This project took 13 days to complete. From beginning to end, our team employed their professional expertise to not only protect the home itself throughout the duration of the project, but to create a final piece of work that will last! When we finished cleaning up on the final day, we left our customer with a home that had repainted walls in a more polished color, repaired drywall, new stain on all of the requested woodwork, refined enamel work, and a fantastic painting experience. When you work with CertaPro Painters of Minnetonka, you can be confident you’ll be talking to and working with professionals at every step of your painting process!
