Commercial Case Study
The Food Group
In March of 2023, CertaPro Painters® of Minnetonka, MN painted the interior offices of The Food Group, a non-profit focused on providing food and nutrition to those in need. This involved repairing old drywall, coordinating with the facility manager to work around the volunteers’ regular duties, and maintaining cleanliness and low noise throughout the project.
Prep Work
Our team was charged with painting all the walls, doors, and door frames in the common areas of the interior offices. This included two spacious cube rooms, the lobby, and 15 distinct offices, restrooms, and hallways. The walls of the interior offices needed repairs following more than 10 years of use, and the colors were dated.
To plan the logistics of the project, we worked closely with the facility manager to avoid disrupting the volunteers as they continued their work. Areas were sectioned off and masked to keep furniture and floors clean. Drywall was repaired or replaced to bring the walls of the offices to like-new condition.
Challenges
Our biggest challenge with this project was working around the normal business hours of the volunteers. Through coordination with the facility manager, we were able to avoid disrupting the volunteers throughout the 5 days of the job. Offices were painted when they were not in use and conference and break rooms were painted when no meetings were scheduled. It was also very important to minimize noise, as well as dust from the drywall repairs, so that volunteers could continue their vital work.
The Finished Product
The staff and volunteers at The Food Group were excited to have their workspace transformed with minimum disruption to their operations. We were able to bring drywall to like-new condition and update the color scheme to a more modern look. Our team took this office space from the 80s into the 2000s, creating a fresh and inspiring environment that the organization loved.
