Before Our Painters Arrived

The block walls on this Metro Storage facility were peeling badly and desperately needed to be addressed. Some rental customers who stored their equipment often find large paint chips on the ground near their vehicles or boats. It was time to call in the professionals!

Prep Work

The project began with pressure washing the facility’s surfaces aggressively to remove any dirt, debris, or other pollution. We then removed all of the peeling paint using scrapers and wired brushes on a power wheel. After this was complete, all of the exposed block was primed with the appropriate masonry primer and then two top coats of paint were applied.

Challenges

The biggest challenge our team faced was ensuring that all of the vehicles being stored at the facility were moved well away from the work area. We worked closely with the facility manager to avoid any complications, and we took special care to make sure that any overspray was contained and that any surface that would not be painted was protected.

After Our Painters Left

When we presented our client with our final piece of work, we wanted to be able to offer them a product that would stand the test of time. To ensure coverage and adhesion, we sprayed and back-rolled the primer and top coats of paint. This technique forced primer and paint into the cracks and crevices in the wall surface. That extra step will prevent moisture intrusion and ensure the paint stays on the wall and looks great for years to come. Here are a few photos of the completed project!
