Pedestrian Tunnel

Ready to make a change?

Schedule an Estimate

In August of 2022, we were hired by the city of Minnetonka to repaint this pedestrian tunnel. As you can see pictured here, the tunnel was covered in graffiti and the paint underneath was decaying and chipping away. The tunnel had been an eye-sore for pedestrians that needed to be refreshed.

Prep Work

To prepare for this project, we first pressure-washed the walls to remove any dirt or debris from their surfaces. After washing the tunnel walls, we then applied two coats of paint to them. After repainting the tunnel, we top coated with an anti-graffiti paint, which will allow the city to simply pressure wash the walls to remove any future graffiti.

Challenges

There were two challenges that we had to overcome during this project. The first of which was managing the flow of pedestrian traffic through the work site while we prepared for and finished the project. The second was ensuring the anti-graffiti coating was applied exactly according to the manufacturer’s specifications. We wanted to put an extra level of care in with this step so that we could ensure the City of Minnetonka can keep the tunnel looking great for years to come.

The Finished Product

Ultimately, we got this project done in about two days time. The City was excited to have the graffiti removed and can avoid the future expense of constantly painting the tunnel.
