Anderson County Courthouse in Lawrenceburg KY
by CertaPro Painters® of Lexington, KY
Challenges
This project had many challenges to it. We had to maneuver multiple lifts around very tight areas, monuments, etc. in order to reach some very extreme heights. We had to close & block off entire streets for certain parts of the job as well as go up and overpower lines.
CONDITIONS
The building was in very rough shape on the exterior. It is a functioning historic courthouse. The entire exterior was revamped by multiple contractors.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
- Preparation – This project involved using a paint stripper product called Peel Away 1. We had to apply this mud type product over all painted surfaces covered by a sheet of wax paper, wait 24 to 36 hours and remove all previous coatings around the entire building. We had to neutralize the stripping agent prime and topcoat all painted surfaces.
- Painting – This project required a 60′, 80′, 125′, & 135′ Articulating Boom Lifts in order to get to different portions of the building.
