Heartland Community Church

Project: The Heartland Community Church in Lenexa, KS reached out to us to refresh the building’s exterior which involved sanding, power washing, and painting exterior surfaces.

Process: Our commercial painting team began the project by sanding down all of the exotic Cumaru wood on the large facade of the building back to its bare wood. When the sanding was completed, the crew cleaned the wood and applied a one-coat oil-based stain. The job required a 45 ’ boom lift as well as power equipment to sand off all of the old coatings on the Cumaru wood walls.

Once the front area was finished, our team began working on the church’s back walls and its deck areas. The wood walls and deck of the church had been stained in the past, but was in need of fresh coatings. We started this portion of the job by using a wood cleaner and conditioner and power washing all of the walls and deck surfaces. After all the back areas were prepared, the crew applied stain to all wood surfaces. Since the temperatures were starting to get colder and the products could only be applied in temperatures 50 degrees or higher, our crew had to work around the weather climates and look for days when the temperatures would be appropriate.

CertaPro Painters® of Kansas City Northland was able to complete the job within a week and a half. The client was so happy with the final outcome and has asked us to come back again for other projects.
