Zionsville Exterior Repaint After Major Paint Failure
A Residential Case Study by CertaPro Painters of Indianapolis
Bonding Primer and Careful Scraping Restore a Zionsville Home Exterior
This Zionsville, Indiana home needed more than a quick color refresh. After power washing revealed major paint failure, especially on trim where oil paint had not been primed correctly, our crew spent a week in September 2026 scraping peeling paint to a tight edge, applying bonding primer, and finishing a durable full exterior repaint that leaves the homeowner with a well-adhered finish.
Scope of the Work
We carefully scraped failing paint to a tight edge on every affected surface, then applied a bonding primer to those areas so the new finish would hold. With adhesion restored, we completed the exterior repaint so the home looks fresh and the coating stays put.
Challenges & Solutions
The amount of failure meant patient, thorough scraping so every loose edge was gone before primer went on. No special equipment was required—just careful prep and a bonding primer system chosen for adhesion on previously failed oil-overpaint surfaces. That discipline is what leaves the customer with a well-adhered paint project instead of a short-lived cover-up.
Before Painting
Faded red board-and-batten siding and peeling trim/soffit paint on this Zionsville home before scraping and bonding primer.
The Results
Freshly painted red vertical siding, crisp white trim, and restored soffits after careful prep and a durable exterior finish.
