Refreshing a 400,000 Square Foot Facility
In October 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Indianapolis completed a large-scale interior coating project at an industrial facility in Plainfield. The building supports high-traffic manufacturing activities, requiring durable coatings that could withstand demanding industrial conditions.
The project focused on preparing and coating large interior surfaces throughout the facility to improve brightness, maintain cleanliness, and provide long-lasting protection for production areas and structural elements. A three-person crew completed the work efficiently over ten working days while coordinating equipment and access throughout the large manufacturing space.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The project involved interior painting across multiple sections of the industrial facility, including production areas, structural columns, interior tilt-up panels, and supporting utility spaces. The goal was to deliver a bright, uniform finish that improves visibility and protects the surfaces in a high-use manufacturing environment.
Surface preparation was performed prior to coating to ensure proper adhesion and durability. Once prepared, coatings were applied across the large wall panels and structural components to create a consistent appearance throughout the facility.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS:
One of the primary challenges of the project was the height and scale of the interior walls, which extended up to the building’s high-bay ceiling. Accessing these large vertical surfaces safely required specialized equipment and careful planning.
The crew coordinated equipment placement throughout the facility to safely reach elevated areas while maintaining productivity and efficiency across the large interior footprint.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT & TECHNIQUES:
To complete the work safely and efficiently, the team utilized two boom lifts and one scissor lift. These lifts allowed the crew to reach high wall sections, structural columns, and other elevated surfaces throughout the industrial space.
Using multiple lift types enabled the team to navigate different areas of the building while maintaining proper safety practices and keeping the project on schedule.
