Higher Education Painting Project in Upland, Indiana
Taylor University in Upland, Indiana was seeking professional painters to help them transform the interior of their student dining hall. This included things like sealing water stains in the ceiling, applying primer, and painting surfaces that had never been painted before. The main focus of the project was to update the interior look of their dining hall to make it more modern. The project did pose some unique challenges, specifically coordinating work hours.

CHALLENGES:The main challenge our team faced while completing this project for Taylor University was coordinating work hours. This was particularly challenging because the dining hall is one of the busiest spaces on campus. To ensure minimal disruptions, we worked directly with the dining staff and the university’s team to make sure there was a plan in place. Taking these extra steps during the planning process allowed us to deliver a more seamless experience to the university and its students.
CONDITIONS:
- The building was in decent condition.
- Some areas of the ceiling had water stains.
- The ceiling in the dining hall had never been painted before.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
- Plan: Working with Taylor University to understand how we could best transform the dining hall for them and what schedule would allow for the least amount of disruptions.
- Repair: Implementing interior repairs, including sealing water stains on the ceiling.
- Paint: Using a variety of painting products we painted the entire interior of the dining hall, including all ceiling surfaces.
PROJECT TIMELINE
Taylor University needed us to complete this project before students arrived back to school. Our team was able to meet this deadline and completed the project in just over 3 weeks.
BENEFITS
The attention to detail and organization our team brought to this project allowed for successful results. Having the space updated with new colors and paint really made the dining hall look new. The space looked refreshed when we were finished.
