Interior Painting Projects Before the Holidays: What you need to know
Posted on November 17, 2021
2021 is nearing it’s end, and the holiday season is upon us. At the time of this writing we are 1 week away from Thanksgiving weekend and 5-6 weeks from Christmas and New Years holiday events. This is a time of year where its common for our customers to ask if its possible to get painting done before the holidays come. As of now, painting before thanksgiving is unlikely, but we have some room for interior painting projects in December and could complete work (project depending) before Christmas. Given the tighter timeframe, its important to consider a few things when booking.
DIY Projects usually take much longer than a professional team, if you are looking to get interior painting done before the holidays this year, your best bet is to hire a painting company to make swift work of the project. We, and many other local painting companies, usually have more room in schedules in the fall and winter as the exterior painting season slows down.
Make sure to communicate priorities
Most project estimators will ask about what the priority areas are, especially for projects with specific timelines. Have a general idea of what rooms you want done most, and what rooms could be done later in the project. If you have having a family gathering in the living room or dining room, make indicate these are the most important rooms to get done first.
Colors & Palette Considerations
Color selection can sometimes take time, having specific colors in mind for the estimator early in the process will help keep things moving. We can also help with color recommendations and color consulting if you need assistance with selecting the colors. If you are considering multiple colors (for rooms in the same area) also think about how the colors of the 2 rooms compliment each other.
Consider items other than walls and ceilings for painting
A freshly painting kitchen with out-of-date cabinets may not deliver the transformation you were hoping for. We can help with items like cabinet restoration, painting of in-wall shelves, fireplace mantles, and more. These are all items that are likely in some of the main areas for holiday gatherings. Cabinet restoration projects can be involved, and take up room in the home to stage doors for painting, you will want to get an early-as-possible start if including in the project.
