Carlisle Historical Jail Restoration Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

In October 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Harrisburg restored the exterior of the Historical Jail in Carlisle. The building had severely peeling and faded paint that required detailed preparation. Our team scraped, sanded, and primed the surfaces around the original cell bars. To protect the 45 windows, we used a specialized liquid mask before applying two coats of fresh finish paint.

CHALLENGES

The main challenge was that the cell bars were only accessible from the outside. The team had to work from 40-foot ladders to reach tight spaces between the bars. To finish before the winter weather arrived, the crew worked through the weekends to stay on schedule.

PROJECT TIMELINE

The restoration was completed in 9 days.

THE FINAL RESULTS
