Interior Home Painting in Devon, PA
Interior Home Painting in Devon, PA
A homeowner on in Devon, PA contacted us to give new life to their 6,000 square foot home!
The home had wallpaper in most rooms and multiple layers of wallpaper in the foyer. It was particularly challenging to remove the multiple layers of wallpaper, especially in the foyer, as the foyer was 18 feet tall!
Our team began the project by removing all the wallpaper in the home. We also used a special technique called skim coating to remove the texture from the checkered walls and ceiling in the hall bathroom (not pictured in the photo gallery). We used skim coating again to remove texture from lines on the home office walls (the blue room pictured in the photo gallery).
Once the wallpaper was removed and we finished skim coating, we primed the freshly smoothed walls. The dining room ceiling had gold leaf which we carefully and intently primed for a fresh coat of paint. We also primed the trim throughout the house that was painted gold. After priming the walls, gold leaf in the dining room, and trim, we got right into painting!
For walls, we used Sherwin Williams Cashmere flat paint in the following colors:
- SW 7661 Reflection (foyer, upstairs hallway, powder room, dining room, stairwell to basement)
- SW 7030 Anew Gray (Guest room and upstairs bath)
- SW 6002 Essential Gray (great room, office, 2nd upstairs bathroom)
- SW 9168 Elephant Ear as an accent color (accent walls in guest room, dining room, and great room)
For the trim, we used Cashmere Med Lustre in SW 7006 Extra White in all areas of the house aside from the 2nd-floor hallway off the foyer where we painted the foyer-facing sides of doors in the color SW 6992 Inkwell.
Our team successfully completed the large project within two weeks in December 2021. The homeowner was very pleased with the results!
