Exterior Painting of 75,000 sq. ft. Warehouse
The owner of a large, 75,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Malvern, PA, contacted us to paint the building exterior. The warehouse had 28′ high concrete block walls that had large chuncks of old, peeling paint falling off its surface – potentially causing failure of the block walls.
Numerous surface impediments of substantial inventory was blocking direct access to the walls and posed a particular challenge given the height of the walls as well. To solve this, we mindfully moved or worked around the surface impediments and inventory and used two separate manlifts to reach the tall walls.
We began the project by thoroughly powerwashing the entire substrate using remote powerwashing equipment and water transported from an offsite supply. Our crews then had to manually scrape numerious large areas of the black walls to remove considerable amounts of old peeling paint. After a 2nd power wash to ensure that any remaining mold and mildew were removed, we applied a full coat of Loxon Conditioner – a mansonry coating which tightens up the loose, spalling block and prepares the surface for paint. Finally – using professional gas-powered paint sprayers with 150 foot hoses, we applied finish coats of Sherwin Williams A-100 Exterior Acrylic Latex paint.
The project was completed in 14 days in October 2022.
The owner was very pleased with the results and timeliness of the project!
