The Project Scope:
Chester Crozer Springfield Hospital is a 25-bed hospital, located in Springfield, Pennsylvania. The facility offers a complete line of inpatient and outpatient primary and specialty care services. Each year, the Springfield Hospital admits more than 1,800 patients and receives more than 11,000 Emergency Department visits. Being centrally located in Delaware County between the Springfield Mall and Springfield Country Club, attracts patients from across the County and the Main Line.
CertaPro Painters of Greater Media knew how important this project was to Terri Pelligrino, Vice President of Facilities of Springfield. Some of the work that needed to be done included painting common areas in one of the two pavilion buildings. The areas consisted of long hallways with metal trim, and the condition of the building was poor due to years without paint.
How we got it done:
The walls were covered in heavy, vinyl wallpaper that needed to be removed throughout the common areas. Next, we primed the walls with oil and two topcoats of Harmony Zero VOC paint. Because the Respiratory Unit was located near the area painted, the oil primed was applied on Saturday evening, followed by a topcoat as soon as it dried. The oil-based trim paint was removed and primed for an Emerald Trim enamel top coat, which provided a harder surface than the old oil based paints. Luckily, the project was completed with minimal impact to the patients and busy Hospital daily operations.
