Commercial Case Study
Bethlehem Area Moravians
The Client & Their Story:
In the 1700s, Moravian settlers from Europe moved into Bethlehem, PA, and established a communal society. Bethlehem’s 14-acre National Historic Landmark District showcases the Moravian town planning and the German Colonial architecture prevalent during that time.
Around July 2022, Bethlehem Area Moravians reached out to us, looking to give their historic 1880 property a fresh look. The exterior surfaces were experiencing peeling paint and required some minor carpentry repairs. Additionally, there was limited access to the sides of this three-story home and its slate roof due to neighboring properties. We needed to ensure our team maintained a safe working environment for the adjacent properties and the everyday foot traffic.
CertaPro Painters® Solution:
To begin this project, our team performed the necessary surface preparations and carpentry repairs. Since this was an older property, we followed the best lead practices when necessary. When working on the sides of the home, we used a 40-foot ladder. We also used chicken ladders, which had insulation foam to protect the surfaces of the slate roof areas. Our painters used Benjamin Moore products such as Regal Premium Paint and Command Premium Paint to paint the home’s wood, steel, and cement surfaces.
Results:
This project was an exciting one! Our team completed everything in approximately two weeks due to weather conditions and the filming of a segment for our local Benjamin Moore dealer featuring their AllPro Line. Though this project had various challenges, they were all within our skillset and expertise. We were happy to deliver a clean, refreshed look for the property and bring our customer’s vision to life!
