SUMMARY:

Our commercial painting team completed this exterior museum painting project in December of 2020. With hard work and focus we were able to complete the project in one day. When we arrived the window frames had exposed wood, missing paint and uneven surfaces. We quickly sprung into action to restore this building back to it’s best state.

CHALLENGES:

The weather was very cold as the end of the painting season was near.  Water based products were applied that can be used in temperatures down to 35 degrees F.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT/TECHNIQUES:

A mechanical sander with a  vacuum was used to collect dust and remove old wood pores so that new primer and paint could be applied.

Before…

The paint around the windows of this building was peeling off and the wood required mechanical sanding, spot priming and matching color top coat to protect against cold weather conditions.

During the project…

We used a Festool mechanical sander attached to a HEPA vacuum to remove uneven surfaces and bring the wood back to a paintable condition.
