From Faded to Fresh: High-Rise Pool Area Makeover

In June 2025, a high-rise residential complex in the heart of Denver’s Cherry Creek neighborhood underwent a much-needed refresh to its rooftop pool area.

Focused on improving both safety and aesthetics, the project restored weathered rails, stairs, and surrounding maintenance areas exposed to years of sun and seasonal wear.

The weeklong effort brought a polished, durable finish back to this high-traffic outdoor space, enhancing both form and function for residents enjoying the rooftop retreat.

SCOPE OF THE WORK:

The project involved the restoration of several key structural elements around the rooftop pool area, including metal railings, staircases, and the adjacent maintenance access zone.

The team began by pressure washing all surfaces to remove accumulated debris and surface contaminants. From there, extensive surface prep included scraping loose paint, sanding, grinding out corrosion, and applying rust treatment to extend the life of the metal.

Tread strips and anti-slip compounds were applied to enhance safety and meet building standards, and the final step included expert color matching to maintain consistency with the existing design palette.

Though no specialized equipment was required, the project demanded a thorough and methodical approach.

Dealing with rusted surfaces and stair treads required detailed prep and treatment to ensure proper adhesion and long-term durability. The use of anti-slip coatings added an extra layer of safety to stairs exposed to moisture, while color matching across various materials and lighting conditions demonstrated the crew’s attention to visual harmony.

Working on a rooftop in a downtown urban environment also meant careful coordination to minimize disruptions and maintain clean, contained work zones throughout the project.
