What Should I Expect During My Appointment?

Posted on May 12, 2022

At CertaPro Painters® of Lewisville – Flower Mound, we do our best to ensure that “The customer only has to tell their story once.” That goal is so important to us that it’s on posters around the office, and our processes – from the time a customer schedules an appointment with us until their project is complete – are designed with that goal in mind.

Getting to know your “story” starts before your appointment

Between scheduling your appointment and the appointment itself, you’ll receive a call from your consultant. In this 10 or 15-minute call, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss the “what”, “why”, and “when” of your project. While other painting companies focus almost exclusively on the “what” (e.g., inside or outside, surfaces to be painted, necessary repairs, color changes), we believe that the “why” behind your project and your preferred timeframe are just as important. In short, this call allows us to be much more efficient with your time during the actual appointment, and to arrive with solutions already in mind. During this brief call, your consultant will also walk you through what you can expect when they come to your home.

Your on-site consultation

Depending on the complexity of your project, you can expect your consultant to spend between 45 minutes and an hour and a half at your home. During this time they will be focusing on the following:

  • Overview Your consultant will give you a brief overview as a reminder of what will happen while he or she is at your home.
  • Project Considerations Review Your consultant will review your “what”, “why”, and “when” to make sure they completely understand what you’re hoping to accomplish with your project.
  • Walk-Through Your consultant will ask you to walk through or around your home with them, so that they can visualize the results you have in mind for your project and point out any issues they may see.
  • Create a Pledge Throughout the process, your consultant will ask you questions designed to help us understand how we can best interact with your home and your family to ensure that your project is completed professionally, efficiently, and with the minimum impact on your family. The questions will be along the lines of “Will anyone be home during the project?” “Do you have any pets that we’ll need to consider?” “Where should we store our equipment and supplies over night?” “Who should we communicate with during the project?”
  • Digital Client Manual and Project Audit Your consultant will do another walk-through on his or her own in order to take measurements and pictures, fully assess the condition of the surfaces being worked on, and develop alternative solutions to achieve the outcome you are looking for.  While they are off doing their thing, they will leave you with our Digital Client Manual so that you can learn a little more about us and our services, as well as check out our latest customer reviews.
  • Preparation of Written Recommendations Your consultant will return to their vehicle to create a written proposal. If this is not possible for any reason, they will let you know.
  • Presentation of Proposal At this point, your consultant will thoroughly explain the solutions they have developed to achieve your desired outcome, and answer any questions you may have. They’ll also review your answers to our Pledge questions with you, and give you an opportunity to add any additional information you’d like for us to keep in mind.
  • Determine Next Steps This is where we assess any scheduling needs, or any special considerations your project may require, and put your project into our production schedule.

Your proposal

You may have noticed that we haven’t mentioned giving you an estimate. That’s because we don’t provide estimates! Barring any unforeseen conditions that first come to our attention while your project is being produced, the price quoted on your proposal is the price you’ll pay. Our comprehensive, written proposal will include all of the details we’ve captured regarding your project, including pictures, the preparation to be done before we start painting, the types of materials to be used and the number of coats to be applied. Your proposal will also include our written, detailed warranty for your review.

Extraordinary Experiences

We strive to provide each and every one of our customers with an Extraordinary Experience, and we strongly believe that we have the best chance of doing so when we spend the time upfront to get to know you and your expectations. Our consultation process was designed with that belief in mind. We would love the opportunity to show you just how committed we are to ensuring your satisfaction!
