There were two large buildings that had not been updated for over 20 years. About the Project
This is a two building shopping center with multi-level buildings located in Fairfax, Virginia. We completed a full color change, and provided the customer with building renderings of different color options for them to choose from. We painted EIFS, concrete block, light poles, and standing seam metal roofs.
One of the buildings was 112,000 square feet and the other building was 90,000 square feet. There are multiple stores within the shopping center which included JoAnn Fabrics, Bed Bath & Beyond, Safeway, TJ Maxx, and many other smaller shops.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
The existing color scheme of the building had not been updated in over 20 years. There was extensive mold on the building that needed to be removed prior to painting, and several areas of major EIFS repairs that were addressed prior to applying the new color scheme. The project involved power washing, caulking, scraping, EIFS repairs, and painting.
SPECIAL CHALLENGES
We implemented the use of 4 boom lifts to move around each of the buildings, and to reach the rooftop painting that was needed to tie in the new color scheme.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project took a total of one month to complete.
