Trek Bicycles Queen West
CertaPro Painters of Etobicoke was recently contacted by the manager of Trek Bicycles Queen West, who was seeking assistance with the completion of a major store remodelling phase and commercial painting project.
The store staff had begun painting the walls on both levels but stopped short at the two-story open space at the entrance to the store, which served as the central welcome and product display area.
The primary project scope element was the painting of the 25’ walls in this entrance area. Secondary elements included painting the wall adjacent to the customer service desk, the uppermost wall areas which the staff were not able to get to on the second level, and the baseboards along two main walls on both levels.
Given the need to place ladders in the high traffic entrance to the store, the project had to be completed after store hours, taking place on a Sunday night and completed before Monday’s reopening.
Preparation consisted of the typical patching and smoothing of small holes and dents in surfaces to be painted, followed by thorough scuff sanding. Cleaning of the windowsills and platform area above the front entrance, which was clearly visible from the second level overlook, was also undertaken prior to painting these surfaces. Two coats of SuperPaint were then applied to the walls and baseboards in Trek’s updated store colour scheme.
The result has been a huge improvement in the customer’s aesthetic experience, shifting from the old yellow-cream and green to a medium and dark gray, and completely updating the space in line with the brand’s premium image. The manager’s enthusiastic review summarizes his experience: “The team from CertaPro of Etobicoke were awesome from consult through finished product…they executed the job flawlessly and quickly, and the price was very reasonable.”
