Clutch Office in Mimico
The Director of Finance and Toronto GM for Clutch, Canada’s first online car retailing platform, contacted CertaPro Painters of Etobicoke in early April 2021 with an urgent commercial painting project at their office in Mimico.
With their business growing rapidly, the Clutch team was preparing to expand their office space into an adjacent, recently vacated building. The previous tenant was a modern furniture design firm, as reflected in the eclectic mix of natural cork tiles, wood, and chalkboard paint on many of the wall surfaces.
Given the company’s overall moving timeline, a same-day estimate appointment was set, the proposal provided and accepted the next day, and the project immediately initiated and completed in less than a week.
The scope of work called for the repainting of all walls and trim, with a significant amount of preparation required in order to address the various wall treatments, fill numerous mounting holes and other imperfections, and degrease the metal trim in high traffic areas.
After the surfaces were properly prepared, Extreme Block alkyd primer was applied to the cork and chalkboard paint surfaces, and several walls covered with high gloss oil paint. All walls then received two coats of SuperPaint interior latex paint, with three major accent walls painted in a custom-tinted formulation matched to the Clutch red, and utilizing a red base to ensure the bright colour would cover properly in two coats. Interior office trim was painted with Solo acrylic trim paint, and the metal trim with Pro Industrial urethane alkyd paint for extra durability.
The result has been a total transformation – truly customized to Clutch’s corporate identity and welcoming for the team members, excited to move into their new space. Reflecting on the experience, the GM was “very happy with the work quality and end result…would highly recommend and will use CertaPro again.”
