The scale, which had deteriorated significantly, required a durable coating to withstand Midwest weather and improve its visibility for safe daily use.
Over two days, the CertaPro team applied a specialized epoxy coating designed to ensure both durability and visibility, securing the scale against rust and further wear.

Project Details
This project involved the epoxy coating of an axle scale, an essential feature in the customer’s logistics process, ensuring delivery trucks could safely assess loads before leaving the yard. The existing coating had completely worn off, which left the metal exposed to rust and reduced its visibility for truck operators. Recognizing these issues, CertaPro Painters® proposed a three-layer coating solution aimed at addressing both safety and longevity.
The process began with detailed surface preparation to ensure optimal adhesion of the new coating. The team then applied two coats of Safety Blue Macropoxy, chosen specifically for its high visibility and protective properties. Finally, a clear epoxy topcoat was applied to create a weather-resistant seal, further enhancing the coating’s durability and providing long-lasting protection against rust and wear.
Results
The completed project achieved a vibrant, highly visible finish that meets the customer’s safety requirements and ensures the axle scale remains resilient against Sheboygan’s harsh weather conditions. The durable epoxy coating will significantly extend the scale’s operational life and reduce the need for frequent maintenance.
