How to Choose the Perfect Paint Color

color for your home. What seems like a simple task can soon become very overwhelming. Painting your home should be an enjoyable process for you so we put together some tips on how to select the perfect paint color for your home!
- Don’t pick the color first. This one only applies if you are moving into a new home or plan on purchasing new décor. Most people tend to want to choose the paint color first and then begin shopping for furniture and décor. However, it should be the other way around.
- Have a Pinterest board or idea board. Look at other homes to get inspiration. You want to have an idea of what look you are going for so you don’t feel completely overwhelmed. This process will also help you get an idea of styles you don’t like as well.
- Get inspired by nature. This is becoming a huge trend in 2022 since earth tones are increasing in popularity. If you like the idea of bringing an essence of nature into your home, start gathering inspiration from your day to day surroundings.
- Decide between neutrals and colors. There are generally two kinds of people in the world when it comes to home design style. One is going to go for neutral paint colors and the other will gravitate toward bold colors and pattens. Once you have decided that you are going with one or the other, this will narrow done your selection a lot.
- Test the paint in your home. Buy testers of colors and shades you like and paint them onto decently sized sections of your wall. A lot of the time paint colors look different in the store than how they will actually look once on your walls. Leave them up for a couple days so you can see them once they are completely dry and in different lighting.
