CertaPro Painters® of Des Moines was contacted in December 2024 by a homeowner looking to update their very large, 6,460 square foot residence before listing it on the market.
The Challenge: Quick Turnaround for a Sale.
The primary constraint on this project was the tight deadline imposed by the impending real estate listing. While the walls were in good structural shape, the home’s aesthetic was outdated, and a complete transformation was needed as soon as possible to appeal to modern buyers.
The Project Scope:
The comprehensive project involved painting all walls, trim, baseboards, doors, and cabinets throughout the entire home, which included 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
We also had to convert all the existing wood trim and doors to a painted finish. This conversion is a highly tedious task requiring meticulous attention to detail, including:
- Prep, Sand, Prime, and Paint all wood surfaces throughout the house.
- For the cabinets (in 8 restrooms, the kitchen, and the laundry room), we utilized specialized off-site techniques. The cabinet doors were carefully removed and transported to our warehouse to be professionally sprayed, ensuring a flawless, factory-like finish.
The Result: A Bright, Market-Ready Home!
Despite the extensive scope and the time crunch, our team completed the full residential transformation in just 2.5 weeks.
The entire home was painted in a bright, modern, and highly marketable color palette:
- Walls: SW 7042 Shoji White
- Trim & Cabinets: SW 7008 Alabaster
