In 2017, the experts at CertaPro Painters® of Denver, CO completed a restoration project for the picturesque Vitruvius Apartments. The intricate details and soaring columns of the Greek-style architecture all around the exterior of the building provided a welcome challenge! Scope of the Project: The Vitruvius Apartments project in Denver, CO, took place in 2017 and lasted four weeks. The 24-unit apartment building, located on Steele Street across from City Park, features Greek-style architecture with large columns and expansive verandas. When work began, the building’s exterior surfaces were in poor condition, with significant peeling paint on the columns, soffits, and architectural details. The project primarily involved painting and minor carpentry repairs, particularly focusing on the soffits.
Challenges and Solutions:
One of the main challenges was addressing the extensive peeling paint on the tall columns, which required thorough preparation and sealing of all expansion joints. To complete the work efficiently and safely, the team used 40-foot extension ladders to access high areas. Despite the challenges, the project successfully restored the building’s aesthetic and structural integrity.
