CertaPro Painters® Supporting STEM Education for Youths

CertaPro Painters® of Lakewood, Golden and Evergreen has always been committed to the wellbeing of the communities we serve. We proudly support the efforts and mission of the Outdoor Lab Foundation, and encourage others to learn more about this incredible organization. The Outdoor Lab is a community program that develops stewardship of self, community, and environment in students.

As part of the Outdoor Lab program, youth are exposed to the outdoors to instill environmental awareness and an understanding of the importance of environmental conservation. In Jefferson County, approximately 6,000 sixth-grade students, and over 1,000 leaders participate annually. This leaves a resounding impact on the youth of our community that extends to their families, friends, and peer groups.

For years the program was funded by Jeffco Public Schools, but in 2012 stretched school budgets made it necessary to transition to a tuition program, leaving many youths unable to participate in this wonderful program. As a result, the Outdoor Lab Foundation holds fundraisers and events to enable as many of our schoolchildren as possible experience this inspirational and often life-changing program.

Last week’s After Dark 2021 fundraiser was an overwhelming success. Greg Gieseler of CertaPro Painters® of Lakewood, Golden and Evergreen recalls, “It was a wonderful event. The music was great, we had a good time, and it’s gratifying to know our support goes toward helping our community’s children develop a better understanding of the outdoors and how to preserve it for future generations.”
