Commercial Painting Case Study: Midwest Fasteners

Midwest Fasteners in Miamisburg, Ohio was seeking professional painters to help them update the colors on the exterior of their building to match their newly updated logo. This included things like pressure washing, priming, and painting. The main purpose for them was to have a trusted partner bring their new branding to life on their existing building. The project posed some unique challenges, including the fact that there were active train tracks near the rear of the building.

Challenges:

The main challenge our team faced while completing this project was having active train tracks run along the backside of the building. With this type of ‌proximity, our team halted painting when the train would pass to help prevent any issues from occurring.

Another challenge we dealt with throughout the project was the need to protect employee vehicles from overspray and remain extremely coordinated at all times to ensure no disruptions affected their distributors.

Conditions:

  • Pressure washing exterior surfaces to ensure cleanliness
  • Priming the exterior surfaces for protection prior to painting
  • Painting the building’s exterior with updated brand colors

Project Involvement:

  • Plan: Working with the client to understand their unique needs and the unique location of their building. Developing a plan for how we could best complete their project with minimal disruptions to their daily operations.
  • Clean: Providing cleaning treatments, like pressure washing, to ensure the exterior space and its surfaces were ready for the repaint.
  • Paint: Using products from Sherwin Williams, Superpaint and Industrial DTM, on the building’s exterior, including doors, dock railings, and dock plates.

Project Timeline:

  • The project took our team around 5 weeks to complete 231,000 sqft of paintable surface.
  • Including planning, we worked on this project from September to November.

Benefits

The attention to detail our team brought, allowed for a successful project that the client could be proud of and their customers could enjoy with every brand interaction. The project took the existing building and updated its look with colors from the company’s newly updated logo. Midwest Fasteners was impressed with the outcome and excited to show off the new branding at their facility.

Great service, friendly and the paint looks great. Thanks!
