Warehouse Graffiti Cover-Up

Project Overview:

This commercial project involved repainting the exterior of the warehouse’s North, West, and East sides to cover graffiti. The work also included repainting the gutters, downspouts, and an overhead garage door that had been affected by graffiti.

Scope of Work:

• Power Washing: Thorough cleaning of all surfaces to remove dirt, debris, and any loose paint.
• Caulking: Sealing gaps and joints to ensure a smooth, weather-resistant surface.
• Scraping: Removing any loose or flaking paint to prepare the surfaces for priming and painting.
• Priming:
  • Stain-Blocking Primer: Applied over all graffiti-affected areas to prevent bleed-through and ensure a flawless finish.
  • Metal Prime and Prep: Used on rusted areas of metal to prepare them for repainting.
  • Masonry Primer: Applied to masonry surfaces to enhance paint adhesion and durability.

Challenges: The primary challenge was ensuring that the graffiti did not bleed through or cause any defects in the new paint. Each graffiti-affected area required thorough priming with a stain-blocking primer to create a solid base for the repainting process.

Special Equipment and Techniques:

• Landscaping: Some landscaping and vines had to be removed or trimmed back to access the painting areas properly.
• Priming Techniques: Special attention was given to the graffiti-affected areas, using high-quality stain-blocking primers to ensure the graffiti was completely covered and would not reappear.

Outcome: The project was completed successfully within the one-week timeframe, with all graffiti fully covered and the exterior of the warehouse restored to a clean, professional appearance. The client was highly satisfied with the results, noting the thoroughness and attention to detail that went into the project.
