In the fall of 2020, CertaPro Painters of Columbus, Ohio, undertook a significant project to modernize 170 Rite Aid store locations across Ohio. The project encompassed exterior repainting and necessary repairs to stucco and EIFS surfaces, aimed at enhancing the curb appeal and maintaining the structural integrity of the stores.

Services Provided:

• EIFS and Stucco Repairs: The team managed extensive repairs on damaged EIFS and stucco, especially in areas where old signage was removed.
• Surface Preparation: All surfaces were thoroughly cleaned, rust was removed, and areas were prepped to ensure that new paint adhered properly and provided a fresh, appealing look.
• Painting: CertaPro Painters collaborated closely with Rite Aid’s administration to select and apply the right color palettes for each location, ensuring brand consistency and aesthetic appeal.

Challenges:

• Paint Shortage: Amid a national paint shortage, CertaPro Painters proactively coordinated with Sherwin Williams to secure the necessary volumes of paint, avoiding potential delays.
• Large Scale Project Management: The project’s scale required meticulous planning and coordination to paint multiple stores each week, demanding precise logistics and teamwork.

Conditions Addressed:

• Peeling Paint: The team addressed extensive peeling paint, which marred the appearance of the buildings.
• Discoloration and Fading: Several stores displayed discoloration and extreme fading due to weather exposure and previous spot treatments, which were rectified.
• Rusted Metal: Metal components like doors, roofs, bollards, and light poles were treated for rust and repainted.
