John Glenn International Airport

Aviation Project in Columbus, Ohio
CertaPro Painters® of Columbus, OH was contacted by John Glenn International Airport to assist in painting the exterior of the Spirit Aeronautics hangar. The 12,000 square foot facility had extreme peeling down to the original metal substrate, creating a space for surface rust to thrive.
The paint itself, in addition to the peeling, was compromised in a number of ways. The coating had become chalky and the sheen and color of the exterior were failing. The only option for CertaPro’s professionals was a thorough repainting to create a brand new look and add long-lasting protection to the John Glenn building.
In April 2019, CertaPro Painters® scraped and sanded the exterior of the building before applying a special protective primer. Painting ensued after the team preparation ensured a smooth and uniform application would be the final result of the project. Below is a collection of images and video for a closer look of the team’s work.
