Student Housing Interior Refresh
In 2025, a large-scale interior renovation was completed at a private student apartment complex serving Auburn University.
Over the course of six months, more than 200 occupied apartment units were fully repainted and upgraded to bring a modern, cohesive aesthetic to the living spaces.
With students in residence throughout the project, careful scheduling and precision coordination were key to delivering high-quality results without disrupting daily life.
The result is a unified, refreshed interior that better reflects the energy and expectations of today’s student residents.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
The scope of work included repainting all interior walls, ceilings, trim, and cabinetry across three distinct floor plans.
Originally finished in a dated beige palette, the units were transformed with a clean, vibrant white that dramatically brightened the spaces and created a more contemporary, high-end look.
In addition to painting, the team removed over 30 sets of aging cabinets per unit, replacing them with brand-new installations. Each new cabinet and drawer required precise measuring, hardware installation, and custom modification to integrate properly with tongue-and-groove rail systems—ensuring functionality as well as visual appeal.
SPECIAL CHALLENGES
With all 200 units actively occupied by students, the team developed a detailed schedule and phased approach to minimize disruption and maintain productivity. Close communication with property management and residents ensured consistent access while upholding a safe and respectful work environment.
The cabinet work required consistent precision across hundreds of drawers and doors, with tailored modifications made to accommodate the rail systems in each layout.
The end result was a uniform, fresh interior upgrade delivered without compromising quality or resident experience.
