How long does it take to paint a home?
A typical project for us can take 3-5 days with painters onsite, but can vary due to many factors including project size, crew size, and weather. I try to scale my teams accordingly to keep projects under 1 week if possible.
How often should people paint their homes?
Depending on the quality of paint used, paint can last quite a few years in our climate. I have seen exteriors go 10+ years and still look decent with quality products. Some builder-grade paints on new construction barely lasts 5 years before it starts to fade and appear chalky.
How much paint do you need to paint a home?
It all depends on the size of the project, but our pricing includes needed materials such as the paint.
Do you have a project minimum?
We have a project minimum of $500.
Is there anything that can change the cost of a project after a customer receives a quote?
Generally, the proposal is firm during the validity period. Price variations only occur if there are changes in the project scope. (Go from color match to color change, adding accent walls, hidden damage not readily apparent from initial inspection, etc.)
When is the best time to paint?
Exterior – In Texas, just about any time of year is a good time to paint. If it is at least 35 degrees Fahrenheit outside, the paint can flow. Our crews like to work in warmer weather though.
Interior – Year round is fine, but the early part of the year or mid-summer is especially great for interior work as there is more availability during the slower times of winter, or to keep our crew inside during the extreme heat of the summer.
Are you insured?
Yes. A copy of our insurance is provided with all estimates.
How many people do you send out for each job?
Most of my crews are 3-man, but I also have 2-5 man crews depending on the scope of the project.
Is your team employees or subcontractors?
My painters are sub-contractors with many of them having a long-term relationship with my company.
How will my project be managed?
The onsite Job Site Supervisor is the main project manager, but we conduct regular site visits and crew training to ensure all projects are completed to the high quality CertaPro Painters standard.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, there is a warranty of 2 years. This information will be included in the provided proposal.
How long have you been in business?
CertaPro Painters® of College Station, TX has been servicing the Brazos Valley for over 5 years.
Can the painters work alone in my house?
It is possible for one person to be sent out for smaller projects. There are also times where a painter might be left alone if the other painter has to run for additional materials.
How many paint colors are included in your typical proposal?
Most proposals include about 3 wall colors. We can accommodate more, but that impacts the final costs as we have to account for overages in paint for partial gallon requirements.
What type of paint do you use?
We mainly use the highest quality lines of Sherwin-Williams® paint. We can align our product offering based on customer requests, budget, and product availability.
Do you have eco-friendly paint options?
Most modern paints are low VOC (fumes). There are zero VOC lines available that we can use at a customer’s request.
Do you use any materials aside from paint?
Aside from paints and stains, we use caulk, putty and some solvents if required. Most of the products we use are water based and clean up easily with soap and water.
What colors do you suggest for the exterior?
This is a very personal decision for the homeowner. We can help with direction, but tastes vary. It is important to consider the community or HOA standards if present.

Are there certain color palettes you suggest for interior?
Generally, neutral colors provide the best options for decorating, but we will work with the desires of the homeowner.
