Sterling Affair Warehouse Flooring Project

Project Overview:

CertaPro Painters® of Clifton, NJ successfully completed a challenging commercial painting project for Sterling Affair, a high-volume caterer based in Clifton, NJ. The focus of the project was the restoration of a 6,500 sq. ft. warehouse floor, which presented numerous challenges due to the high-traffic nature of Sterling Affair’s operations.

Condition of Facility/Surfaces:

At the commencement of the project, the warehouse floor was in a deteriorated state. It was coated with ground-in grease and dirt, and the existing floor coatings were failing. The primary goal was to remove the failing coatings, thoroughly clean and etch the floor, and then apply a new, durable commercial-grade epoxy coating.

Challenges:

Several challenges had to be navigated during the project. Sterling Affair operates 6-7 days a week, making it a high-demand facility. The tight schedule before and after Christmas added pressure to the project, requiring the floor to be cleaned, prepared, and painted with sufficient cure time before operations resumed on December 29th. Coordination with Sherwin Williams, the vendor, was crucial to ensure timely availability of epoxy paint, cleaners, and other supplies.

Tools and Process:

The team found that Diamabrush consistently delivers excellent results in preparing concrete floor surfaces for epoxy coatings. The project spanned five days, with three days dedicated to cleaning and preparation and two days for the painting process.
