Homes For Our Troops Ceremony

Posted on November 15, 2017

CertaPro Painters proudly supports Homes for our Troops. Homes are built with special adaptations for injured Veterans Post 9/11. These homes are also mortgage free to help our Veterans rebuild their lives.

CertaPro Painters of Charlottesville, VA was directly involved in the construction of a home built for CPL Kevin Blanchard in Crozet, VA.
CPL Blanchard was a combat engineer on patrol in northwest Iraq with the 4th combat engineer battalion, 4th marine division. While serving in Iraq, his vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED). There were 4 other marines in the vehicle that sustained injuries, however, CPL Blanchard was the most severely injured. CPL Blanchard lost his left leg and sustained severe damage to his right leg.

Originally from Roanoke, VA, CPL Blanchard and his wife Myra choose to build their home in Crozet, VA. We worked on this project all year and upon completion they were able to move in on Sept. 30, 2017. There was a key ceremony which the entire community was invited participate.
