Law Enforcement Painters of Central Miami
CertaPro Painters® of Central Miami, FL was contacted by the PBA to help with an exterior renovation project in Miami. The building’s exterior was in need of attention, along with railing, stairs, entryways, and other supplemental pieces of the property.
CertaPro’s professionals not only assisted with the restoration but with a color change as well. The all-yellow finish was fading and outdated. A decision was made to modernize the building with a completely different appeal.
A three-color scheme was chosen, with a grey as the foundation, supported by a blue and yellow. White was used on some of the outside areas as well, in particular maintenance and storage.
EXTERIOR STUCCO TRANSFORMATION
CHALLENGES
Projects of this size create their own set of hurdles. Coordination among the team and communication with the client is very important in making sure the job is completed efficiently.
The multi-story PBA building also provided the need for special equipment to complete the job. With high and hard-to-reach spaces, a lift and ladders were used to apply a professional finish to the structures exterior. Prep was also completed on a larger scale, as sizable portions of the exterior were made of windows that needed cover.
AREAS OF CONCERN
- Peeling Paint – Paint was beginning to fail on the exterior of the PBA building
- Faded Hues – The color of the paint were faded due to years of exposure
- Dirt Accumulation – Years of dirt and stain accumulation was visible on the outside of the building
- Rust – Railing, stairs, and support beams all collected rust due to wear over long periods of time without proper maintenance
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
- Preparation – CertaPro Painters® cleaned the exterior, taped windows, and smoothed the walls by removing peeling and cracked paint
- Painting – The PBA building was painted using a grey foundation with blue and yellow accents. Railing, stairs, window frames, and storage areas were also refinished for a beautiful and uniform look. A great deal of stucco work was also involved with the exterior which requires a unique skill set to complete properly. The expertly worked stucco came out smooth and consistent with the help of CertaPro’s experience.

Yellow Frames and Trim
Yellow windows and door frames were in need of maintenance and an updated color change.
Muted Entryway and Overhang
The entry area was in need of a fresh new look to change the washed out appearance in the high traffic area.
Multi-Story Painting
The entirety of the PBA building was painted in a yellow that had not been updated in years.
Rusted and Peeling Corners
The hidden and covered areas had consistent peeling and rusting that needed a full restoration.
PAINTING THE PBA BUILDING
CertaPro Painters® took pictures of their efforts on the exterior of the structure. The extent of their preparation and use of special equipment ensured a positive result.
Elevated Section Painting
The entirety of the building needed a repaint, including the top level of the building that required specific equipment.
Multi-Color Appearance
The color change included leaving the posts a yellow while the base was painted a grey.
Multi-Story Prep
CertaPro Painters® used a lift to make sure all areas of the building were prepped and taped properly.
Exterior Color Change
The building was changed from a dated yellow to a more contemporary and clean grey foundation.
Covered Window Panes
The many windows surrounding the PBA building were covered before painting began.
THE FINAL RESULT
After the project was completed, CertaPro’s professionals gathered images of the final product. The entire exterior was transformed with an eye-catching and updated appearance.
Building Color Change
The building received a color scheme of grey, yellow, and blue, with a hint of white on some smaller sections.
Detailed Finish
The stucco exterior, poles, stairs, and trim were all restored, providing a wonderful new look.

The high levels, overhang, and support beams were all restored in the renovation efforts.
