The winter months are a great time to focus on the inside of your home. During the summer months, homeowners tend to spend all of their energy focusing on the exterior of the house. So why not take the winter months to show the inside of your home some love?

Following are some inexpensive home improvement projects to consider during the winter months.

Landscaping

Before the bad weather hits be sure to take care of the home’s landscape. Add fertilizer to trees, shrubs and grass. This will keep it nourished throughout the cold winter months and provide it with enough care to make it through to see spring. This project is inexpensive and also won’t take up too much of your time.

Get the Interior of your Home Painted

Apply a fresh coat of paint to the inside of your home. This allows you to be able to focus on the outside of your home once the warmer months come back around.

Small Repairs

Complete those small interior repairs like seal opening and air leaks. Seal the seams around your windows and doors with caulk, weather-stripping or waterproof sealant. This will help lower your utility costs. It can also provide better humidity control, lessen pollutants from entering the home, and reduce noise from outside.

Add Decorative Details

Have you been wanting crown molding? It’s not as expensive as most people thing. And the winter is the perfect time to add these little design details. You will need a table saw or you can rent one from stores like Home Depot or Lowes. It will be cheaper to take on the project yourself.

You can also refurbish the doors. If you have been wanting to make the doors in your home look more expensive or modern, the winter is a great time to do this. Whether you want to paint them or change the doorknobs this is an in expensive project that can make all the difference to your home.
