Manufacturing Facility Painting Project
Our team here at CertaPro Painters® of Cedar Rapids started this manufacturing facility painting project in Iowa City, Iowa in July 2022. This is a large manufacturing facility that has many pedestrian paths, and walkways that need to be clearly legible so that workers are safe and know where to walk in this facility. Many of the old lines have simply worn off or have become hard to see due to fork lift’s, carts, and other items driving over them.
Before the project began…
Many of the lines were missing, hard to see, chipped or just dirty. The client also wanted to add safety stops in certain areas.
Details from the project…
Describe the condition of the facility/surfaces at the time work began: Many of the lines were missing, hard to see, chipped or just dirty. The client also wanted to add safety stops in certain areas.
What did the project involve? Removal by grinding off lines, Laying new lines, painting with Epoxy and top coating with a Urethane coating
Were there any special challenges involved? Most of the challenges were with scheduling, doing work on weekends, nights and shut downs to ensure we were not in the way of employees and equipment, also interfering with normal operations
Did the project require any special equipment or techniques? Use of grinders, hand grinders, masking machines, knowledge of epoxies and urethanes
The Completed Project
We cleaned the areas, removed old lines and then applied new lines with a clear top coat to help with durability.
