My name is Kim Hutton and I’m an Interior Designer and Colorist. For over 20 years I’ve enjoyed helping clients create beautiful interiors. Nothing pleases me more than the delight on a client’s face when we have transformed the interior or exterior of their home or business. I love what I do. Each day I meet with clients, discuss their ideas, and consider the materials, furnishings, and the architectural features of their project and then together we create a palette that is uniquely theirs. Clients express how excited (and relieved) they are to take the next step and begin painting!
My love of color and design goes back to my childhood. I always knew that I’d be an interior designer since my first choice, “Mermaid,” wasn’t feasible. I began painting at 11 years old and haven’t stopped. I was a faux painter for 10 years, mixing and creating my own paints and finishes. I’ve always painted, sewn, crafted and created.
In my free time I’m usually walking the beach looking for shells and sea glass. I’m always taking photos of nature, architecture…anything that catches my eye. I love all kinds of animals. For 12 years I had an amazing Lab, Willoughby. We had many adventures from Idaho to Arizona to California. During my years in Idaho I had the pleasure of trail riding through the mountains on a cow pony, named Sam.
As much as I enjoyed Idaho I am glad to be back in California. My daughter, stepson, and family are here. Three years ago, I got remarried to Jack. You’ll often find me being his “roadie” at his shows. He’s a drummer in a couple of bands. We both enjoy live music, dining out, road trips, and the Ocean. I had to buy this Pittsburgh native his first pair of flip flops!
