Exterior Painting Project in Eastham, MA
Project: In July 2024, a customer in Eastham, MA came to us to refresh their house. Their exterior had extensive peeling and flaking stains on the shingles. The trim was in better condition but it was also peeling and flaking. The house didn’t need much carpentry due to rot, but most of the damage was caused by bird strikes.
Process: The project began with our team staining the shingles and painting the trim and doors. The customer wanted to change the color of her siding and the color and sheen of her trim. To complete this project, we replaced approximately 100 shingles, rebuilt a 20′ simple handrail and various other carpentry on corner boards and rake boards. We washed the house first with an eco friendly agent – 30 Seconds House Wash – to remove any dirt, salt, mold and loose paint or stain. We covered and protected the customer’s lawn and shrubbery with tarps. We aggressively sanded the siding to remove as much loose stain as possible. After the wash and prep work, we discovered another 200 shingles that had to be replaced.
We knew there was a lot of carpentry going into the project but after finding another 200 shingles that had to be replaced put more work and pressure on us to get it done in a timely manner but with quality craftsmanship. We utilized a Festool sander to keep the dust and paint/stain debris to a minimum.
Result: Overall, this project took 10 days to complete which began with the house wash. The new interior of the home looked beautiful when the project was finished and the owner was very happy with the result. Consider a fresh coat of paint if you are looking to enhance the interior of your house.
