The Problem to Be Solved:
A repeat customer in Pirates Cove, Osterville, MA, needed both the interior and exterior of their home refreshed. While the property was in generally good condition, the exterior stain had not been applied properly before this project, and began bubbling immediately during the wash. The homeowner wanted a clean, fresh finish inside and out.

Solution:
CertaPro Painters® of Cape Cod completed a wash of the exterior and a full repaint, as well as a wipe-down and interior repaint to refresh the indoor spaces. For the exterior, the team addressed the bubbling stain by performing a take-down wash, followed by aggressive sanding to remove as much of the existing stain from the shingles as possible. The interior portion required only straightforward painting.

Challenges:
The improperly applied exterior stain created a significant challenge. The bubbling that occurred during the washing phase required the crew to remove the stain using a close-range power wash and extensive sanding to ensure a smooth, stable surface before painting. This added substantial labor beyond a typical exterior repaint.

Final Results:
Completed in September 2025 over the course of 10 days, the project delivered a fully refreshed interior and a properly prepared and repainted exterior. The repeated trust from the homeowner underscored their satisfaction with the results and the quality of workmanship.
