Project: In March 2024, a customer in Yarmouth, MA came to us to refresh the interior of their house. This interior project required several important steps that we followed to get the best possible results. The customer wanted to change all the dark stained wood to white painted wood and to change the color of the walls. There were also a couple minor wall repairs that needed to be completed.

Process: To get started, the CertaPro Painters® of Cape Cod team covered the floors fully with paper, plastic and tape to ensure that paint did not drip onto the floors. We first completed the minor wall repair and then fully primed all of the dark stained wood trim which included baseboards, windows and window frames, doors and door frames and a mantle. Our team completed two coats of paint on all walls, one coat of paint to the previously white painted window frames, and one coat of paint on all ceilings.

In the main room, there was a large 24-pane window which is notoriously difficult to paint. To tackle this challenge, we used a specialized masking liquid on the window panes. This liquid effectively covers and shields the panes, making it much easier to paint the muntins or trim between them. This process allowed us to apply primer and paint with a spray gun, resulting in a smoother finish for the window. Once the paint dried, we simply cut out and peeled off the masking liquid, which left the window perfectly painted without any paint getting on the glass itself.

Result: Overall, this project took 4 days to complete. The new interior of the home looked beautiful when the project was finished and the owner was very happy with the result. Consider a fresh coat of paint if you are looking to enhance the interior of your house.
