Project: The Pierce Building came to us in April 2024 to paint the exterior of the building. The facility had rotted wood and flaking/peeling paint. It appeared that 50% of the paint was flaking and peeling when the project was initially estimated. After we washed the building, we discovered that closer to 85% of the paint on the building was flaking and peeling.

Process: The project entailed extensive painting and wood replacement on a white building with green shutters and doors, including garage doors. We first completed a spot prime on the bare wood with a high-quality primer, followed by two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select High Build paint, which is thicker than standard finish paint and provides a slight sheen. After this, we applied two coats of the finish paint. The carpentry work involved replacing four bundles of clapboards, several feet of corner boards, rake boards, and soffit boards.

The front of the building featured a two-story gabled peak, approximately 30 feet high, which also served as the main entrance. This setup posed a challenge for our team as the main entrance was 10 feet from the road. To accommodate this, our team efficiently managed the use of a 40-foot ladder. Although it was a tight fit, we strategically positioned the ladder to minimize disruption and ensure it didn’t block the sidewalk.

Result: The entire project was finished in 4 weeks and the customer was satisfied with the finished result!
