Commercial Case Study
Nursing Home
The Problem to Be Solved:
The Welcome Center at a Cape Cod nursing home was in good condition but needed an aesthetic update. The space, used to interview potential applicants, featured outdated, heavy-duty commercial wallpaper that the client wanted removed in favor of a brighter, fresher look. A new TV was recently installed, so there were holes left behind from rerouted cabling.
The Solution:
This weekend-only project was planned around the facility’s operational needs to avoid disruptions. On Saturday, our team carefully prepped the space for wallpaper removal, patched the TV cabling holes, repaired minor ceiling cracks, and completed two thorough skim coats after stripping the wallpaper. Skim coating and wallpaper removal are specialized techniques requiring skill and patience, especially when dealing with durable commercial-grade wall coverings.
On Sunday, we returned to finish the job. We painted the ceiling, walls, chair rail, baseboard, door, and door frame, giving the Welcome Center a clean, modern update that aligned with the client’s goals for a professional first impression.
The Challenges:
The biggest challenges were working within the tight weekend timeline and removing the heavily adhered commercial wallpaper. Coordinating the work to avoid workplace disruption was essential, and our team executed it flawlessly.
The Final Result:
In just two days, the Welcome Center was completely transformed. The client was thrilled with the lighter, more welcoming space that better reflects their organization’s standards. The refreshed room now leaves a positive first impression for prospective staff and visitors alike.
