Colour Update For Calgary Area Warehouse
Our painting team was recently contacted to complete a full exterior colour change at a warehouse in SE Calgary. This large building, about 200 ft by 150 ft and 28 ft high, needed a fresh look and some stucco repairs before painting could begin. The new colour scheme features dark grey accent pillars, light grey walls, and a white belly band. Our painters also refinished the loading bay doors, man doors, and frames. With a mask line running about 500 linear feet to separate the belly band, precision was key. A 45 ft boom lift was used to access all areas safely. The entire project, from repairs to final coat, was completed in just three weeks.
About the Project
Surface Condition and Prep Work
The warehouse exterior had significant wear and tear, especially on the stucco. Large sections had to be scraped and reapplied before painting could begin. The building also featured concrete and metal cladding, all of which needed thorough cleaning and priming.
Since a color change was part of the project, careful preparation was necessary to ensure proper coverage and sharp paint lines. A masking line of about 500 linear feet was used to separate the white belly band from the grey walls and accent pillars.

Accessing all areas of the building safely required a combination of equipment, including a 45-foot boom lift, a scissor lift, and 32-foot ladders. Painters had to navigate around landscaping elements like trees while ensuring full coverage.
Special Challenges
Using heavy lifts on the site required additional care. The lawn area needed ground repair after the equipment was moved. The height of the building also made it necessary to use the boom lift and scissor lift strategically to reach every surface. Safety was a top priority throughout the project.
Final Results
After three weeks of repairs and painting, the warehouse had a refreshed and modern look. The color change provided a more updated appearance, and the repaired stucco ensured better long-term durability.
