Gloria Dei Lutheran Church – Commercial Religious Facility Painting Project

In May 2023, the CertaPro Painters of South Metro team painted Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Burnsville, MN.

This was the first repaint of the building since it was built in the early 2000’s. Many ceiling areas had cracks and gaps which needed repair prior to painting. All of the windows had gaps and cracks from settling and time. This project involved caulking and minor repair, painting of a vaulted ceiling 25 feet high, caulking and painting of several banks of windows that were each 15 feet high, and painting of doors, walls, and ornate corbels within the room. We had to coordinate church events, which involved flexibility on start and stop times to accommodate for late afternoon / early evening events. All marble floors and carpets were double-covered to protect from paint drops and usage of lift equipment. Flexibility was paramount as there was a funeral scheduled in the room mid-week during our second week, and we needed to stop, clean up and reset to provide respect for the service. We also had to make use of some special equipment and techniques for this project! Two electric scissor lifts were utilized to reach ceilings and taller window areas. Ceilings and trim were all applied by hand due to the delicate/intricate surfaces.

The project took about 2 & 1/2 weeks. Below you can see photos from before we got to work, the job in progress, and the final result!
