Cannon Falls High School – Commercial School Painting Project

In June 2022, the CertaPro Painters of South Metro team was tasked with a complete redesign of the 3000-seat gymnasium at Cannon Falls High School. Painting involved all walls, including a custom red horizontal stripe running throughout the upper walls that were 24 ft. tall floor to ceiling. Along with the walls, we painted all the metal doors in the gymnasium.

Our team had to clean of all the walls that had been neglected for over 20 years, especially behind the bleachers, to remove dirt, grime, and graffiti. A custom red horizontal stripe was added to the upper portion of the gymnasium walls. All surfaces had to be accessed with scissor lifts. Special decking material was used on the hardwood floors to prevent damage from the weight of the scissor lifts. Sensitive audio equipment, including speakers, had to be carefully covered to avoid overspray. The red horizontal stripe had to be custom located by utilizing laser measuring tools to ensure accurate placement. The location of the property provided challenges as it was over an hour away from paint supply stores and this required logistics to be put into place to avoid a delayed paint supply.
