🌅 What Is Magic Hour Adventures?

There’s a moment just after sunrise — when the light is soft, the air is still, and the world feels wide open. That’s the magic hour.

During the pandemic, I felt something was missing. We were all inside more. Disconnected. Screens replacing experiences. And as someone whose personal mission is to inspire daily adventures, I knew we needed something different.

So I started Magic Hour Adventures.

What began as a simple monthly hike at Valley Forge National Historical Park with friends and my kids has grown into a thriving outdoor community of over 2,000 members.

Two thousand people choosing movement.

Connection.

Adventure.

🏞 Where We Explore on the Main Line

We regularly hike at:

• Ridley Creek State Park
• The Willows
• Wissahickon Valley Park
• McKaig Nature Education Center
• Haverford College Nature Trail
• West Laurel Hill Cemetery (incredible rolling loop views)
• Rolling Hills Creek Trail in Gladwyne
• Valley Forge and beyond

Each park has its own personality.

Wissahickon offers rugged beauty and creekside miles.
McKaig feels hidden and peaceful.
Haverford’s nature trail is perfect for reflection.
West Laurel Hill’s loop surprises people with its elevation and views.
Rolling Hills Creek Trail gives you that quiet Gladwyne charm.

And we don’t just hike.

We kayak in the summer.
We snowshoe in the winter.
We ice skate.
Every spring, we train together for a 5K.

🎨 Why a Painting Company Started an Adventure Group

At CertaPro Painters of the Main Line, we restore pride in homes every day. Through painting and carpentry, we help people see their spaces differently. We help them entertain more. Live more vibrantly. Open the windows. Host dinner outdoors. Take pride in the details.

But here’s what I realized:

If we only focus on improving the inside of your home — and forget about the world outside of it — we’re missing something.

Magic Hour Adventures isn’t separate from what we do. It’s an extension of it.

👨‍👧‍👦 As a Father of Four

As a father raising four children, I feel a deep responsibility to model curiosity, resilience, and connection. I want my kids to see that adventure isn’t something you wait for once a year.

It’s something you choose.

Sometimes it’s watching the sunrise at Valley Forge.
Sometimes it’s kayaking on a quiet morning.
Sometimes it’s simply walking a trail with good people and coffee afterward.

We’ve watched strangers become friends.

We’ve seen kids light up spotting wildlife.

We’ve had conversations on trails that never would have happened anywhere else.

And the ripple effect is real — people start hiking on their own. Hosting more gatherings. Exploring more of the Main Line. Living more intentionally.
