Stair Railing Paint Project in Longmont, CO
CertaPro Painters® was contacted in January 2022 to revive the most used areas of the home–mainly focusing on the stairway. The home was like many that had been lived in by a family, with young kids that aren’t exactly careful around painted surfaces. The baseboards were dented and scratched, the handrail had worn from extended use and exposure to hand oils, and the walls looked dull.
The project involved repainting walls to freshen the space and bringing a more vibrant atmosphere to the home once again. There was extensive preparation done to convert the old, worn, stained railings to be painted. Our professionals used a combination of scuff sanding and de-glosser to profile the surface and remove the sheen and clear coat. This prepared the wood for better adhesion from the high grade bonding primer used. Then we applied a premium urethane coating that provides excellent tensile strength, resists scratching / marring, and will stand up to hand oils over time. In just under a week, these worn-down areas were looking as good as new!
