Metal Building Painting in Memphis

CertaPro Painters® of Bartlett, TN received the award to paint a 6000+ square foot metal building in Memphis. The metal building was dirty and chalking, in addition to an area with new galvanized metal from a repair that was made when a car ran through the front of the building. This was a total repaint of the building with accent features. We had to do a thorough wash of the building prior to other prep and painting due to the condition of the metal.It was dirty and chalky, as well as being an outdated color sequence. There was also a section in the front of the building where there were different colored galvanized metal due to repairs that had to be made when a car ran through the front of the building.
Before the Commercial Painting Project Began…
Prior to other preparations and painting, we had to wash the entire building with Clean ‘n Etch, as suggested by our Sherwin Williams representative. This product was applied with a pressure washer and subsequently washed off with water to clean the metal and reduce the amount of chalking. We then had to spot prime with red oxide ProCryl (Sherwin Williams) primer in the damaged area, including the new galvanized metal. We did this to ensure that the new color would match all the way around the building.
During the Project…
We were then able to apply two coats of DTM to the main body and gutter/downspouts (accent color). We were able to both update and protect this building, which the client was very happy with, as he was planning on listing it for sale.
After the Painting was Completed…
We completed this project in July of 2023, in the planned upon 3 days.
